To improve our chances of seeing a tornado on the last day of the chase, we stopped at Twister's Bar and Grill in Colby, Kansas, to buy a T-shirt. We stopped several times along the road hoping to see a storm cell develop but all in vain. We were also warned at the beginning of the trip to be careful when getting out of the cars, because of chiggers and snakes in the grass. No chiggers, but oh m'gosh I nearly stepped on this monster rattlesnake just off the side of the road near Atwood, Kansas!
