UCSB Beach Sand Depth
The depth of sand on UCSB Beach varies greatly throughout the year and is easily judged relative to the base of Anacapa Steps. In the first two images below, it is a single normal step from the lowermost step to the beach. Just a week later, the drop off the last step is nearly 2 m high, and then the sand is nearly removed to the bedrock.
