Here the wall is back-filled with topsoil and I have begun to
lay track. I like section track made by USA Trains, because it doesn't
get cruddy as quickly as the other leading brands. I've laid it on a brick
foundation, because I wanted it on something firm but not as permanent
as concrete. The bricks make it easier to realign later as will be evident
in later pictures. Emma is worried about the 4' diameter hairpin loop
and she's right. Later I managed to increase the diameter to 5' by moving
to the property line beneath the hedge. The rubber mallet is ideal for
urging the bricks into position. |
