During and After Comparison of 2004-05 Storm Damage to Goleta Beach Park

Backhoe scoops beach sand from active beach to build berm along eroded cliff along grassy area of park. -2' low tide, 10 January 2005, 4:15 PM. Wave cut erosion occurred here when storm waves coincided with astronomical high tides that reached 6' during the height of the storm. ©AGS2005. On the next morning, gentle waves lap against sand berm hastily built to protect grassy area of park. 7.0' high tide, 11 January 2005, 10:21 AM. The protection endeavor seems to have worked because the berm was built after the storm and after the storm waves had done their damage. ©AGS 2005.
